Course Information

couse_photo.jpgIn every season, a round of golf at Apple Mountain is a treat to the wonders of nature , from the fragrance of the Apple Blossoms in the Spring through the glowing foliage of Autumn in the mountains. The course is unique in that it is designed on a hillside and the terrain itself presents many challenges. There are water hazards on eleven holes and no need for sand.

Ease into the game and don’t use your driver on the first hole, a Par 4 which is relatively short but has woods on the left and right. Hit your Tee Shot straight and you should make par.

Now you have the confidence that you will need to play the second hole . . . Tee off over water and avoid the second pond; a tough, second shot onto the elevated green and pray to make two putts on this very demanding sloped putting surface.

Hole No. 3 is a long dogleg left. An excellent downhill tee-shot can put you 210 yds. from the green. The next shot is uphill if you are going for the green. If you are laying up, avoid the three small ponds; center, left and right of the fairway.

The Front and Back Nine are different in character ; while the front is more open the back features uphill and downhill lies. Tee off on Hole 12 uphill—the fairway is lined with apple trees and your approach shot is an iron to the double tiered green.

couse_photo2.jpgThe Signature Hole is the 17th, a Par 6, 650 yards from the Blue Tees, a downhill dog-leg plays down the mountain and offers an exciting Tee Shot but you must stay away from woods on the right. You will get roll but you must be accurate to avoid the large tree right at the dogleg. It was once the site of the Ski Slope and was listed as “one of the 18 most perfect holes in New Jersey" - ’ N.J. Monthly Magazine, May 1997 ’.

Bet you can’t par the last four holes— the toughest in the state. On Hole 18 you are faced with a decision to go for the green or lay up and hit your second shot across the 80 ft. pond. It can make or break your game.
